About STEMist Hacks 2.0

STEMist Hacks 2.0 is a hackathon for middle and high schoolers with over $2,000 in cash prizes where participants can develop apps, software, and hardware projects, and present them to a team of judges that will evaluate their projects based on criteria outlined in the devpost. Participants can compete in teams or individually and learn new skills through workshops and speaker talks that will occur throughout the course of the hackathon.

Do I need a team?
We encourage both solo projects and team projects. You have the flexibility to choose whether you want to work independently or collaborate with others. If you prefer working in a team but don't have one, we provide a teambuilding channel in our Discord server where you can find like-minded individuals to form a team with.
Where is the hackathon?
STEMist Education will be hosting STEMist Hacks online, which means you can join from anywhere in the world! The hackathon will be conducted virtually, allowing participants to connect, collaborate, and code from the comfort of their own homes. However, it's important to note that the workshop and ceremony times will be based on the Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) timezone, so please consider the time difference if you are located in a different timezone.
What should I do in STEMist Hacks?
In STEMist Hacks, you have the freedom to program and create any sort of project that showcases your coding skills and creativity. Whether you want to develop a physical project, software application, interactive website, mobile app, or even a project using platforms like Scratch, the choice is yours. When does registration close?
Registration for STEMist Hacks closes at the opening ceremony of the hackathon. You can register anytime before the opening ceremony begins. We recommend registering as early as possible to secure your spot and ensure you receive all the necessary information and updates leading up to the event.
